Size

1.5in x 2.5 in (using Medium Yarn and 3.25 crochet hook)

Crochet Materials Yarn Colors: Black Yarn Weight: Medium Crochet hook: 3.25mm or D hook Polyfill Stitch Markers scissors yarn needle


Felt Materials

Felt Colors: White, Black, Red

Fabric glue Felt needle


Keychain Materials

Keychain Ring (search on amazon)

Key

MR: magic ring

sc: single crochet

inc: increase

dec: decrease BLO: Back Loops Only FLO: Front Loops Only

ch: chain

slst: slip stich slstfst: slip stitch into the first stich of the previous row. sk: skip a stitch


R1: round 1


sc2: single crochet 2 times (1 in each stitch)

[inc, sc]x6: repeat stitches inside '[]' 6 times. incFLO: increase using only the Front Loops Only


Part 1: Crochet



Body

(Black)


Note: take a look at how to make perfect circular rounds, this will help prevent rows from misaligning:


R1: MR12 (12)

R2: [inc, sc]x6, slstfst, ch (18)

R3: [inc, sc2]x6, slstfst, ch (24)

R4-9: sc24, slstfst, ch (24)

R10: [sk, scBLO]x12, slstfst, ch (12)


Begin adding Polyfill…


R11: [incFLO]x12, slstfst, ch (24)

R12: scBLO24, slstfst, ch (24)

R13: [sk, scBLO]x12, slstfst, ch (12)

R14: [sk, scFLO]x6 (6)


add Polyfill…

Finish off and leave a long tail to fasten keychain.



Part 2: Felt

Using Felt Sheets cut out the shapes.


NOTE: These are rough sketches based on the size of the crochet pieces. Your pieces may be slightly bigger or smaller depending on how tight or loose your stitches are. If so, you may need to scale up/down the shapes below to fit the size of your crochet piece. Use the templates below as reference.


Recommendation:

  1. Use felt needle for both the mouth and the White part of the eye

  2. Use fabric glue to add the teeth and black eye pupil.



Part 3: Add the Keychain!

NOTE: images are recycled from my chain chomp keychain pattern (https://www.craftikarp.com/post/nintendo-chain-chomp-keychain) but the method of adding the keychain is the same.


  • Use the remaining tail from the body to sew and secure the keychain to the chain base.
